President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Tashkent plant for the construction and repair of passenger cars.
Railway transport is developing in our country, and the number of flights is increasing. This, in turn, increases the demand for railcars.
The plant produces and repairs 16 types of passenger cars. Last year, the company produced 32 passenger cars and repaired 319. It is important to note that 70 percent of spare parts are localized on the basis of cooperation.
In general, over the past years, more than 300 passenger and service cars were produced, of which more than 50 were exported. In addition, 112 metro cars have been upgraded.
The cars are designed to be used for 28 years and fully comply with international requirements, providing passengers with comfort, high quality and safety.
Improved heating and cooling systems, improved ventilation. Water heating units are designed to run on both electricity and coal. Special devices are provided for passengers to provide clean and cool drinking water, as well as to charge their phones. The plant employs 619 engineers and workers.
The President inspected the cars. He stressed the need to change their design and improve passenger amenities. Instructions were given to expand the electrification of the railway network, cover areas with a large population, and create separate generation capacities for the industry.
This year, it is planned to build and repair hundreds of railcars. In addition, it provides for the production of special wagons for mining and metallurgical enterprises and the development of new types of wagons with wide compartments.
The Head of State was presented with a new project that provides for the organization of production of electric trains and metro trains.
It was also reported on the planned launch of a high-speed train service between Tashkent and Khiva. The President spoke about this at the opening ceremony of the monument to Jaloliddin Manguberdy in Khorezm in 2022. It is planned to purchase a high-speed electric train “Hyundai Rotem " from South Korea. The electric train with seven cars will accommodate 351 passengers and will be able to reach speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour.
